CONGRATULATIONS!
We've finally completed 3 weeks of band camp! The days were long and not always easy but everyone pushed through and made amazing progress. We have a large amount of rookies this year and every single new person got better everyday! We are on the right track so now that band camp is over we need to put in the time at home to keep our skills up!
GREAT JOB THIS WEEK!(:

GREAT JOB THIS WEEK!(:
Our homework assignment has been to find guard shows and bands we admire so keep looking them up and finding something you love about each performance that you can incorporate into your own!
here is one of my favorites! It shows how everyone must put the same effort into everything they do!

Only 8 more days until band camp starts!!
I'd like to thank everyone who camp to our first pre-camp and set a great tone for this season! The energy was high and everyone was improving, it is essential we keep this up coming into this next week!
It is very apparent in the photo above we are focusing a lot on performance so keep it up! Those are some pretty creepy faces that we need to bring to band camp.
I sent an updated e-mail that reminded everyone to make sure they sign up for DCI. If you are still deciding whether to go or not, you can easily YouTube Drum Corps International and find a ton of results! It's a lot of fun and I encourage every single person to be there!
With band camp in just a week, it's time to start hydrating and preparing. Keep up the practicing and contact your squad leaders with any last minute help! This is the time to buy an extra large water bottle and start going outside for walks in the heat of the day! 8 DAYS!

Hello colorguard!
So I want to start this by saying I'm sooo excited for this show and it is going to be amazing! Also I'd like to welcome all of the new members to the colorguard! You can find a lot of the important information here so use it as a resource! I just wanted to remind everyone about some important information.
IMPORTANT DATES:
June 24-26: (9:00am-4:00pm) These are guard camp days! Colorguard requires a lot of different skills so these camps are to prepare everyone for whats to come. We understand people have made vacation plans that may conflict so if you can not make it please e-mail Brandon. If you are in town you need to be at these days especially new members who have just begun spinning!
June 24: (6:30pm-9:00pm) DCI at the Cinemas! There will be a sneak-peak preview of Drum Corps International after the first night of guard camp at Crossroads 20 Cinema. The tickets are $15 but this is completely optional! It may be fun to grab a couple friends after camp and go watch some really amazing marching bands so you may want to check it out! Tickets can be ordered online or bought there but you may want to buy them in advance before they run out!
June 29: First Flight Spin Clinic! This is a great chance to take a class on rifle, saber, flag, or even dance by new instructors. You will get to learn new routines! This is optional as well but highly encouraged! The registration starts at 8:30am and the clinic begins at 9:00am. The cost is $30 to preregister and $35 at the door. It's at Broughton High School and all you need to bring is water because they will provide lunch! There was already an e-mail sent out with the per-registration form!
July 20- We'd like to have the annual colorguard sleepover this night, it is totally optional but highly encouraged! Colorguard is a family and this is where we get to bond the most and have a lot of fun without the pressures of spinning! It should be a blast so save the date if you can on your calenders!
July 22-23 and August 5-9: Guard typically has pre-camps and post-camps so I will find out specific details and I will keep you all posted, just keep these dates on your calender!
July 24-27: This is the official first week of band camp with the full band! We will discuss this more as the time gets closer but these days are NOT optional! It's essential we are all there to work hard!
July 28: DCI Trip! The band will be offering a trip to watch Drum Corps live and it is a really important experience for everyone! Not to mention it's great for meeting friends and seeing how great colorguard can be! You get to see colorguard done at the highest level, its inspirational and supperrrr fun! It will be a small additional cost but that all just depends on how many people decide to go! More information will be given later!
July 30-August 2nd: You will get one day to rest up after the DCI trip to prepare for another week of band camp! These will be longer days than ever before where we will start really getting into the show! Then on August 2nd there will be a parent informance and lots of other fun activities like the talent show!
I know there was a lot of information in this post but there is a lot going on this summer. Feel free to contact me or your squad leaders if you have any questions at all! This is all pretty general so I promise you will all get specifics as we get closer to the dates, I just wanted to give everyone an outline of our schedule so we can plan our summers! This also means these may NOT be the only days for colorguard this summer so don't be taken off guard (haha) if more dates are added! Keep in touch with your squad leaders and keep practicing! Don't forget to start conditioning for the summer camps and working on your technique with friends! Hopefully we can all get together some this summer!
Thank you!

winterguard has begun!
hey colorguard!
soo as we all know marching band is over and we are now on to winterguard! yayy!
today we had our first all day saturday rehearsal and i just wanted to say how well everything went! we got a whole lot done. it is great to see that part of our show is already on the floor that our floor has already started being painted! yayy! soo good, and such good accomplishments! i am super excited for this season, it is great to see you all putting in such hard work and dedication!
just a reminder that this coming week we have practice on tuesday and thursday, but the week of exams we do NOT! with that being said it is super important for us to get as much done as we can on tuesday and thursday! our first show is in a little more then a month, which doesn't leave us a ton of time so we need to take advantage of our rehearsal time.
also! we are going to finish painting the rest of our floor on thursday, january 17th, starting at 12:45 so please try to be there. the more people we have the quicker we can get done.
thanks for all of the hard work today! you guys are awesome (:
